Saline County Assessor Jessica Adcock Goodman is alerting the county’s residents that the taxable value of their real estate properties are set to increase dramatically this year.

Goodman tells KMMO News that the increases are at the direction of the State Tax Commission, saying that the county’s current assessed values are below recent market trends.

Goodman says commercial properties could see an even larger increase.

Goodman notes that the State Tax Commission considers compliance to be within ten percent of what properties are selling for within Saline County. Residential properties were at 75 percent compliance, while commercial properties were at 66.7 percent. Goodman adds that Saline isn’t the only county dealing with having to raise their assessed values.

Each real estate property owner will receive an impact notice letter in June showing their new property value. Goodman says that property owners can set up a meeting with her office during regular business hours to review their values by calling 660-886-4380.
