Christopher Mykel Clevenger, 33, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial with full firefighter rites will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.  Instead of sending flowers, Chris would have preferred a donation made to his family to help support them during this time.  Checks may be made payable to Jessica Clevenger.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born February 27, 1991, in Joplin, MO, he was the son of Michael Clevenger and Billie Lamb Clevenger who survive of Sweet Springs.  Chris lived in the Sweet Springs area most of his life and was a 2010 graduate of Sweet Springs High School.  He also attended State Fair Community College where he studied Criminal Justice and then graduated from the University of Missouri Police Academy in Columbia.  On October 5, 2013, he married Jessica Leann Ford who survives of the home.  Chris was employed at Ford Motor Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo for the last 8 years and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 249.  He was a proud volunteer firefighter with the West Central Missouri Fire Protection District Sweet Springs station for 16 years.  Chris was active in the Sweet Springs community all of his life in numerous ways including coaching football and baseball.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, as well as being a member of Ducks Unlimited.

In addition to his parents, Michael and Billie of Sweet Springs; and his wife, Jessica of the home; he is survived by two children, Brantley Gage Clevenger and Raegan Blayke Clevenger, both of the home; one sister, Cierra Hall (David) of Sweet Springs and their three daughters: Rose, Lily and Ellie; two “adopted” sisters, Samantha Clapper and Melissa Brooks, and their families; three half-brothers; paternal grandparents, Greg and Debbie Wulser of Concordia; maternal grandmother, Patty Staples of Kansas; maternal step-grandmother, Evelyn Lamb of Leavenworth, KS; mother-in-law, Cheryl Ford of Waverly; father-in-law, Gary Ford of Carrollton; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Swift (Conner) and their son, Willis, of Marshall; brother-in-law, Chris Ford (Jessica) and their son, Sawyer; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including Bobby and Mark Morgan; and numerous extended family members.

Chris was preceded in death by one brother, Chance Clevenger; maternal grandparents, Danny and Linda Lamb; paternal grandfather, Harold “Eugene” Clevenger; paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Emogene Clevenger, James and Myrtle Buck, William and Margaret Wulser; and maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Betty McAllister.
