The Saline County Clerk’s office has nearly finalized what items and people will appear on April 8’s local elections.

Following the Tuesday, Jan. 28 deadline for political subdivisions to submit their items for the municipal and school board elections, county clerk Brittni Burton says several cities and school districts will have contested races.

The ballot is not yet complete, as the Village of Mount Leonard has received court permission to have a late filing period after official paperwork failed to arrive. Burton says the village will allow candidates to file until Feb. 7.
