The Green Ridge R-8 School District Board of Education considered a potential high school baseball Co-Op with La Monte High School during its most recent meeting.

Superintendent Brett Hieronymus says the district was approached by La Monte for the Co-Op this spring. He says it’s not uncommon for smaller schools in the area to join forces to give their students the opportunities to compete.

Hieronymus notes that there is still paperwork both districts need to complete with the Missouri State High School Activities Association.

With Green Ridge and La Monte forming a Co-Op, and Tipton recently leaving the conference, there are now nine spring baseball teams competing in the Kaysinger Conference this year. This Co-Op applies to the spring baseball season only and does not currently affect any other high school sports.
