Several new hires in Saline County received the commission’s stamp of approval during their regular session Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Commissioners approved the hiring of Dallas Reynolds in the assessor’s office, as well as janitor Nicole Campbell for the Sheriff’s Office. Two members of the Sheriff’s Office received pay increases, as nurse Lisa Long was promoted to a full-time position, while Troy Johnston also earned a bump in pay after his promotion to sergeant. Also at Wednesday’s session, Jack Harvey and Greg Swift were reappointed to the county’s transportation advisory council.
The commission approved two courthouse lawn requests made by Sandy Hisle of the Marshall Cultural Council. The courthouse lawn will be made available June 7 for the 68th annual Saline County Barbecue, as well as Aug. 1, 2 and 3 for the annual Shopping Under The Sun event.
Commissioners also opened a number of bids for services ranging from dirtwork and fleet maintenance to concrete and printing services. The commission voted to take all the bids under advisement.
