The #20 Missouri Tigers made 55 percent of their baskets, including 15 from three-point range, to overwhelm #14 Mississippi State in an 88-61 statement win Saturday, Feb. 1 in Starkville.

Mizzou scored the first two baskets of the game, both three-pointers, before Mississippi State responded to take a 13-12 lead. That would prove to be the Bulldogs’ only lead of the game, as the Tigers would score the next seven points, then go on a 12-1 run to end the first half with a 14-point lead. A 12-point run early in the second half put the game out of reach, as the Tigers grabbed 29 defensive rebounds while eight steals and 17 points off turnovers.

Caleb Grill came off the bench to led Mizzou with 20 points, including six three-pointers. Tamar Bates added 16 points and Josh Gray claimed a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Josh Hubbard was the only Bulldog in double-figures, leading all players with 24 points.

Mizzou now sit 17-4 overall, including a 6-2 mark in the SEC that has the Tigers third in the conference. Another Top-20 showdown on the road awaits the Tigers, as Mizzou will face #8 Tennessee on Wednesday night in Knoxville. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
