Icy conditions contributed to a two-vehicle collision early Saturday, Feb. 1, that sent a Moberly woman to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 59-year-old woman was driving her pickup east on Route 22 near the Thompson community in western Audrain County, when at around 4:30 a.m., she lost control on the ice-covered roadway. The pickup went across the center line into the path of an SUV driven by a 35-year-old woman from Mexico, who hit the truck’s passenger side. The Moberly woman sustained moderate injury and was treated at a Columbia hospital. The Mexico driver had no reported injuries.
