The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved an agreement with the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration for inspections at the municipal airport.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson said this agreement was approved in the amount of $29,801. This agreement provides funds for FAA to complete flight inspections at the Higginsville Municipal Airport.

In other news, the board recognized Chris Johnson for 15 years of service with the city. Johnson began with the city as a part-time dispatcher in 2000 before becoming a full-time police officer in 2010. Johnson is currently a Sergeant with the department and has two Life Saving Awards.
