The Sedalia City Council has approved an agreement with the Missouri Department of Conservation for management of Spring Fork Lake.

The agreement lasts for one year, with the option to renew for up to a total of five years.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, the council approved a change order for the storm water improvement project that spanned from 9th and Hancock to 12th and Montgomery. Wirt says a net reduction occurred as a result of project delays and complications that inconvenienced residents.

The damages assessed resulted in a net cost reduction of $24,338.68.

In additional business, the Sedalia City Council approved a resolution in support of public safety and crime reduction. The resolution will allow Sedalia to seek grants and designations through Governor Mike Kehoe’s new Blue Shield Program. Also approved was the purchase of a new patrol vehicle totaling $44,657. The council also received the annual report from the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival and corrected an ordinance to vacate another alleyway along the 500 block of South Engineer.
