
The Saline County Commission took several submitted bids under advisement at their most recent meeting.
The commission opened several bids at their Jan. 29 session for various supplies and services that the county will need over the next year. Two bids were submitted for printing the county’s annual financial statement. Green Printers of Marshall provided the apparent low bid of $873 to print 850 copies, including 450 newspaper inserts. The other bid from B&W Graphics totaled $1285.
Elsewhere, Viebrock Sales and Service of Sedalia submitted bids for varying diameters of plastic and spiral corrugated steel pipes, both sold by the foot. They also bid on steel products including guardrails, rebar, black sheet pilings, and decking. BBL Auto Express of Marshall submitted bids for snow removal and vehicle maintenance services for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department. Russell Brothers Excavating of Marshall submitted a bid for trackhoe and dozer service priced by the hour.
Con Agg Companies of Columbia submitted a bid for various road surface material, while Fischer Concrete Services of Sedalia provided a quote for cement delivery. MFA Oil submitted a fuel bid that the county either receives a 3.5 cent per gallon discount for gasoline and 4.5 cent per gallon discount for diesel, or a fixed price agreement pre-tax of $2.485 per gallon for gasoline and $2.79 per gallon for diesel. MFA Oil also submitted bids for motor oil and other fluids for use by the Saline County Highway Department.
Commissioners took all the bids under advisement. Their next regular session is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.
