The region’s next major winter storm is set to make it way through beginning Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, dumping as much as nine inches in parts of the listening area.
National Weather Service meteorologist Randall Collier has a timetable of when forecasters are expecting the heaviest snow to arrive.
A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect at midnight and last until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Collier says heavier snow is expected north of the Missouri River, while snowfall totals could depend on whether some of it collects as ice.
Collier adds that wind chills will also be a factor during the storm, dropping to as low as negative five. He notes that while temperatures are set to get above freezing Friday, another storm system is forecast for the weekend to bring more snow and colder temperatures back to the region.
