Virginia Ashford, 90, of Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Westport Assisted Living in Marshall.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Marshall with Pastor Chuck Riddle and Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at First Baptist Church.  Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation or First Baptist Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born June 12, 1934, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Howery and Anne Catherine Coleman Howery.  Virginia lived in Marshall all of her life and was a 1952 graduate of Marshall High School.  On April 23, 1960, she married Bobby Lee Ashford who preceded her in death on December 20, 2021.  Virginia’s career was spent in real estate owning and operating Ashford Real Estate Agency with her husband for over 50 years.  She was a member of the Association of Realtors and Central Missouri Board of Realtors since 1969.  Virginia had a zest for life and was extremely active. She served on the Marshall Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Marshall Public Library Board, Fitzgibbon Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls and a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.  She enjoyed golfing and fishing throughout the years.

Survivors include four children: Donald Keith VanBuskirk (Nancy) of Marshall, Jill Lynne Ashford of Marshall, Judy Kay Ashford of Slater and Robert Lee Ashford (Mandy) of Marshall; nine grandchildren: Brandy O’Neal (Jason), Amy VanBuskirk, Jessica Allen, Ashely Bezdicek (Marcus), Eric Ridge (Brittany), Kaycie Pease (William), Rebecca Ashford, Katie Ashford and Ginny Ashford; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as other extended family.
