Mark Mitchell collected his 1000th career point and then some, as he led the 21st-ranked Mizzou Tigers to an 82-58 clobbering of the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Mizzou Arena.

Mitchell achieved the milestone during the first half, when he scored 19 of his career-best 25 points on the night. Just over half of those came from the charity stripe, as he drew 11 of the 24 fouls committed by Oklahoma. The Sooners were held to just 21 percent from the field in the first half, as Mizzou claimed 32 defensive rebounds off Oklahoma while shooting better than 54 percent throughout the game. The Tigers led by as much as 29 points before cruising to their seventh win in conference play.

Three Tigers joined Mitchell in double figures. Caleb Grill netted 15 points, including three of Mizzou’s four three-pointers on the night. Tony Perkins added 12 and Anthony Robinson claimed ten. The Sooners were led by Duke Miles with 18, while Jalon Moore had 10 points before fouling out.

Mizzou are now 18-6 overall, snapping a two-game losing skid to advance to 7-4 in SEC play. The Tigers will travel to Georgia on Saturday to face the Bulldogs; pregame will be at 2 p.m., with tip-off at 2:30 p.m., on KMMO AM 1300.
