Ricky Dale Burks, 65, of Slater, MO, died Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Rehab of Independence in Independence, MO, surrounded by family.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday February 20, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, MO, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Willie Harlow will officiate. Ricky was born in Marshall, MO, on November 9, 1959, to the late Louis Burks and Catherine Kruger Burks. He was a 1977 graduate of Slater High School and was a welder by trade. Ricky was the caretaker of Slater Lake, enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising all kinds of hell. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Slater.

Survivors include three children: Amanda Arms (Mike) and Ashley Burks both of Slater and Aston Burks (Stacey) of Independence, MO; seven grandchildren: Kolton, Brayden, Nevaeh, Aiden, Kanani, Eli and Laura; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings: Virginia Ann Burks, Dorothy Durham, Marsha Heard, Bill Burks and Donnie Burks.
