
Vivian Jane Harms, 85, of Concordia, MO, died Friday, February 14, 2025, at Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Pastors Michael Pottschmidt and Andrew Lehenbauer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church. Born January 30, 1940, in rural Blackburn, MO, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Brunkhorst and Mildred Marie Christine Horman Brunkhorst. On May 14, 1960, she married Franklin Delano Harms who preceded her in death on September 7, 2009. She lived in Concordia her entire life and retired as head cook at St. Paul’s Grade School. After retirement, she helped her children in their businesses. Vivian was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Ladies Aid and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidering and making rugs.
Survivors include two children, James Harms (Sherry) of rural Concordia and Annette Sander (Darrell) of rural Warrensburg; four grandchildren, Jessica Marlin (Russell), Heather Arnold, Derrick Sander (Brittany) and Jacob Harms (Alexis); 14 great-grandchildren, Justice, Liberty and Jimmie Workman, Emily, Tyler and Aden Marlin, Lexi Harmon, Payton, Hailey and Mayson Arnold, Maddox Thorns, Colten and Liam Sander and Charlotte Harms; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by three siblings, Virgil Brunkhorst, Dorothy Dieckhoff and Elsie Borchers.
