5 p.m. UPDATE: The water is back on, and the boil order is in effect.

The City of Gilliam is shutting off the city’s water today to fix a water main break.

After the main gets fixed, a 48 hour boil order will be in effect for all city residents.

Residents should boil their drinking water for three to five minutes, which should kill any microbes present.
