The Concordia Board of Aldermen discussed 20 year franchise extensions with Evergy and Spire for electrical and gas services during its meeting on Tuesday, February 18.

The board approved the first readings of bills signing for the extensions, but tabled any further action until its March 17th meeting, where representatives from Spire and Evergy will be in attendance to answer any questions. City Administrator Dale Klussman encourages community members to reach out to the board before that meeting.

Residents are also encouraged to attend that March 17th meeting to ask questions and listen in on the discussion.

In other news, the board authorized the final payment to Alpha Contracting for the CDBG sidewalk project.
