A one-vehicle crash in Macon County on Tuesday, Feb. 18 sent two people to an area hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the two Illinois residents were heading west in a car on U.S. Route 36 near the intersection with Route W outside Lingo. Troopers say that at around 8:45 p.m., the car lost control and went off the right side of the roadway, striking a group of trees. The 25-year-old driver suffered moderate injuries while a nine-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. The two were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
