The St Louis Blues upended the Colorado Avalanche with three goals in the second period, returning to the win column with a 3-1 victory Sunday, Feb. 23 at Enterprise Center.

Devon Toews put Colorado on the board first when he tipped Cole Makar’s blast from the blue line past Jordan Binnington nearly eight minutes into the first period. The Blues’ Brayden Schenn evened the game with a snap shot halfway through the second, and Colton Parayko gave the Blues the lead three minutes later with his wrist shot. Dylan Holloway added insurance just before the end of the period when he connected on Justin Faulk’s cross on a breakaway to tip in the game’s final goal.

Binnington recorded 28 saves on the night, as the Blues picked up a pair of points to move to 58 points, five behind the Canucks for the second wildcard spot in the Western Conference. The Blues’ extended home stand concludes Tuesday night when they host the Seattle Kraken; puck drop is at 7 p.m.
