Five youth from Knob Noster were all injured in a one-vehicle crash east of Holden on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 3:20 p.m. along eastbound Route 58 near the intersection with Southwest 1081st Road. According to troopers, the 17-year-old driver of an SUV attempted to correct his tires when they started to slide into a curve. The driver over-corrected, going off the right side of the road and striking a ditch, then overturning. The driver suffered minor injuries, while his four passengers—ages 15, 13, 11, and nine—all sustained moderate injury. The five were taken to a nearby hospital. Troopers say all five youth were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
