The region’s newest sports cooperative continues to iron out the details of their arrangement ahead of their first pitch.
Green Ridge and La Monte agreed last month to combine their baseball programs for the spring semester, giving the Kaysinger Conference nine teams. Green Ridge Supt. Brett Heironymus says the co-op will allow both schools to provide more playing time for participating students.
Heironymus says the team will wear Green Ridge uniforms with lids sporting a logo that reflects both schools. He notes that both districts are looking to split the costs for the new lids, as well as transportation and coaching responsibilities.
Supt. Heironymus provided an update on the co-op to the Green Ridge R-VIII School Board at their meeting last week. Their baseball season begins March 21 against Crest Ridge.
