Two portions of Interstate 70 in Cooper County will experience lane closures this week as the Missouri Department of Transportation collect samples ahead of major projects along the freeway.

MoDOT crews will close the right lane of westbound I-70 each night this week from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. between mile markers 113 and 113.2, which is a mile-and-a-half past the new bridges over the Missouri River. Crews will also close the right lane of eastbound I-70 Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Boonville, just before the interchange with Route 5.

Additional roadwork projects will pick back up this week. In Cooper County, brush cutting resumes Tuesday along Route Z, with one lane remaining open through the work zone. Crews continue their general roadside work along Routes H and O in northeastern Howard County, also with one lane remaining open through these work zones.

In Morgan County, pavement work continues along Route 52 in Versailles between Fairgrounds Road and Route 5 as part of the project to improve the intersection. In Moniteau County, culvert replacements will take place along Route F between Lone Oak and Schatzer roads starting Tuesday.
