The Saline County Commission is moving up its regular session to Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m., with the ordinance establishing the application process for the senior tax credit among the items listed on the agenda.
If approved by commissioners, the application will become available March 1st for eligible property owners age 62 and older to begin claiming a credit on their primary residence equivalent to most increases in their tax bill. Commissioners are moving their meeting up a day because of a statewide training session and meeting for county commissioners beginning Wednesday in Osage Beach. The training is required under state statute and provided by the County Commissioners Association of Missouri.
