The Slater School District Board of Education voted in closed session Monday, Feb. 23 to not renew the contract of head football coach Mitchell Jenkins.

Supt. Dr Terry Lorenz says the vote was 6-0 against returning Jenkins to the sidelines.  Jenkins guided the Wildcats to the District Three title game against Concordia after a 5-4 regular season. Lorenz explains what’s next for the program.

Also Monday night, the Slater School Board approved the appointment of Albert Foster as the assistant baseball coach for the spring season.
