The 14th ranked Mizzou Tigers were unable to keep a nine-point lead on the road, falling in overtime 97-93 to the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, Mar. 1 in Nashville.

Tyler Nickel sank an uncontested three-point basket with four seconds remaining to force the extra frame for Vanderbilt, a frame where Mizzou never led. The Tigers had a 36-29 lead at the half, but Vanderbilt shot 68 percent, including six of 11 from three-point range, to get back in the game. Nickel accounted for three of those baskets to finish with 12 points, one of four Commodores in double figures.

Despite going 18-for-22 from the free-throw line in the second half, the Tigers allowed 14 points off turnovers. Caleb Grill posted 28 points from the bench to lead the Tigers, while Mark Mitchell added 20. Anthony Robinson and Tamar Bates both finished with 16 points.

Mizzou drop to 21-8 on the year, 10-6 in the SEC. The Tigers pay a visit to Oklahoma on Wednesday night to face the Sooners; tip off is at 7 p.m.
