Three women suffered injury after a two-vehicle collision Saturday, March 1 in western Johnson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an SUV driven by a 58-year-old from Centerview attempted to cross the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 at the intersection with Northwest 1601 Road, near Powell Gardens. Her SUV was struck by a westbound SUV driven by a 62-year-old woman from Amoret, who could not stop in time to avoid the collision. Both SUVs came to rest in the median crossover. The Amoret driver sustained moderate injury and was taken to a Kansas City area hospital. The Centerview driver and a passenger both received minor injuries.
