An Independence man was killed when his truck crashed along Interstate 70 on Sunday, March 2 in Lafayette County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 67-year-old man was driving west on the interstate around 10:40 a.m., when just past the exit to Odessa, his pickup went off the right side of the roadway. The truck struck a sign post and tree before catching fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
