The Kansas City Chiefs’ efforts to rebuild their offensive line have taken a bearish turn, as the three-time AFC champions have sent one of their linemen to Chicago.

Multiple sources are reporting that the Chiefs have agreed to send offensive guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the Bears’ fourth-round pick in the 2026 draft. Thuney spent the second part of last season, including the playoffs, as the starting left tackle, as injuries throughout the season eventually led to the Chiefs’ line being overwhelmed by Philadelphia’s defense in Super Bowl 59. The 33-year-old Thuney has one year remaining on his current deal. The trade comes as the Chiefs have placed their franchise tag on right guard Trey Smith.
