The Higginsville Board of Aldermen has approved a 20-year franchise renewal agreement with Spire Missouri, Inc.

This agreement allows Spire to operate a natural gas distribution system within the City of Higginsville for an additional 20 years. This agreement also allows Higginsville to continue receiving the five percent Gross Receipts Tax from Spire.

In other news, the board approved the appointment of Arron Haynes to the Lafayette County University Extension Council. His term will expire in February 2027.
