The Moberly City Council approved street closures for several events during its meeting on Monday.
One of the events includes the 2025 Junk Junktion Event, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 20. The council approved a resolution authorizing street and parking lot closures, and is also allowing the public consumption of alcohol for the event. Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says this is a great event for the city and surrounding area.
Council members then gave approval for a street closure at the 4th Street Theatre for The Third Annual Phobia Film Festival on September 26 and 27. The council also approved a request to host the annual Unfinished Pieces 5K on April 19. This event will raise money Unfinished Pieces, which is a foundation that aims to help improve the lives of individuals and families affected by developmental disabilities. McGarvey says the council is happy to support these events and opportunities.
