Four young adults were seriously injured after their vehicle went off a roadway in northern Chariton County on Thursday, March 6.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred just before 9 p.m. along Route 11, two miles north of Rothville. According to troopers, a 20-year-old man from Brookfield was driving his Mustang south on the highway when the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and overturned. He was taken to a nearby hospital, while an 18-year-old Brunswick woman in the car was taken to a Chillicothe hospital. Two other passengers in the car, men from Brookfield ages 25 and 22, were flown to a Columbia hospital. Troopers say all four people in the car were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
