A 140-year old clock will soon make its way back to Downtown Sedalia following a donation accepted by the Sedalia City Council on Monday, March 3.
Interim City Administrator Matthew Wirt says the clock outside the now-closed Bichsel Jewelry will return to the historic district, with thanks to a local donor.
Wirt says the plan is to install the clock in front of Bichsel’s original location on South Ohio.
The donation was made by Robert Walters, who stood with Bichsel Jewelry owner Mark Callis as the donation was presented to and approved by the Sedalia City Council. The resolution accepting the donation also detailed the city’s commitment to managing the labor and costs associated with relocating and maintaining the clock.
