The Saline County Career Center DECA chapter announced its success in the CTE “Show Me Learning that Works” video competition, earning a $2,000 grant to support its marketing program.
This competition, reinstated by the Missouri Career and Technical Education (CTE) State Advisory Council, aimed to promote career and technical education throughout the state. Approved CTE programs in Missouri were invited to create a 30-second marketing video that showcased their offerings. Videos that met the competition requirements were eligible for use in the CTE marketing campaign, with five winning entries selected. The SCCC marketing submission was one of the five to represent the marketing program for the state of Missouri.
The winning video featured visual merchandising, the use of editing software, and tools such as a Cricut machine and shirt heat press. It highlighted several students demonstrating the marketing program and the various activities that students could learn through these classes.
Each student involved received a special certificate of recognition for their hard work. The dedicated students involved include Michelle Lin, Peyton Marshall, Ethan Russell, Diana Blanco, Heidi Jimenez, KiAsiah Harris, Vanesa Cortes, and Kellin Fann. Their creativity and teamwork were key to producing the winning video, submitted in November.
