The Missouri State High School Activities Association will have two new assistant executive directors next school year, including a promotion from within the organization.

The association announced last month the hiring of Alex Huck, the current activities director at Affton High School in south St Louis County. Huck was previously at Battle High School, where he was boys soccer coach and played a role in the formation of the Central Missouri Activities Conference. When he returns to Columbia this spring, he’ll assume oversight of soccer as well as theater, speech and debate.

Also becoming an assistant executive director is Stephanie Turner, who joined MSHSAA in July 2023 as their Coordiator of Sports and Activities. Her expanded role will cover eligibility and interpretations of MSHSAA by-laws and rules. She’ll also oversee swimming and diving as well as track and field. Turner previously coached cross country at South Callaway High School, where she was an art teacher. Her new role begins July 1.

Both Huck and Turner are graduates of William Woods University. They will succeed Marty Marsh and Stacy Schroeder, who have announced their retirements from MSHSAA effective this summer.
