Moberly students and staff will have to set their alarm clocks earlier on Mondays for the rest of the school year, and keep them that way in the fall.

At Tuesday night’s meeting, the Moberly Schools Board of Education approved revisions to the district calendar for the remainder of the current school year, doing away with late start Mondays. Supt. Cristina Wright said the change takes effect immediately, and was preferred to scheduling a make-up snow day.

Wright notes that the board also eliminated late start Mondays from the 2025-26 school year calendar.

Also at Tuesday night’s meeting, the Moberly School Board approved a fixed-price food service contract for next school year, retaining Opaa! as their provider. The board also approved the benefits package for 2025-26, increasing the health insurance cap to $732 per employee per month, as well as a services contract with Quest Diagnostic. Supt. Wright adds that school board members were recognized for their work as part of School Board Appreciation Month, and received a performance from the high school chamber choir.
