25-0313-proposed-boonville-roundabout

The City of Boonville approved a resolution last week entering into a cost-share agreement that could lead to a redesigned intersection just north of Interstate 70.

The resolution between the city and the Missouri Department of Transportation calls for the design of a roundabout at the intersection of Main Street or Route B and Americana Drive, which leads to two gas stations, three restaurants, and a pair of hotels. City administrator Katie Fjell told council members the program requires the city to provide part of its share to begin the design phase.

Fjell added the anticipated $2,362,873 pricetag will be split evenly between MoDOT and the city.

Also at last week’s meeting, the Boonville City Council gave first reading to a proposed increase in water and wastewater sewer rates. If adopted by the council at next Monday’s meeting, these rates will take effect April 1:

Boonville Water Service Rates, per Month
Minimum Monthly Charge, per Meter Size (plus first 1,000 gallons)
5/8″ or 3/4″ meter $34.01
1″ meter $57.67
1½” meter $97.62
2″ meter $146.40
3″ meter $258.79
4″ meter $419.98
6″ meter $822.26
Monthly usage rate, per 1,000 gallons
After the first 1,000, each additional thousand gallons up to 10,000 $9.39
After 10,000, each additional thousand gallons up to 50,000 $7.31
After 50,000 each additional thousand gallons $6.72
Wastewater Sewer Rates
Fixed Charge per month, per meter $26.28
Operations/maintenance charge, per 1,000 gallons metered $9.83
Water service rates for Consolidated Public Water Supply District #1 of Cooper County would remain 10% less, while other customers outside the city limits would continue to pay double. Sewer service rates outside the city limits would also remain double the regular rate.
