The Marshall Public Schools board of education reviewed proposed staff benefits for the 2025-26 school year during their regular meeting Tuesday, March 11.
Staff contracts for next school year are calling for a four-percent salary increase, along with an additional two-percent boost to benefits. However, Supt. Caleb Petet says the increases may depend on whether lawmakers in Jefferson City make significant changes to school funding mechanisms.
One new benefit that staff can already take advantage of was approved Tuesday night: trial memberships at a pair of gyms in Marshall.
The board also approved coach and stipend pay increases for the next school year.
