With spring on the horizon, orange cones are blooming along the state’s roadways as the Missouri Department of Transportation’s crews are picking up the pace on various road projects.

Roadside work is underway this week on Route 41 in Cooper County, from the junction with Interstate 70 and Route 135 north to the Saline County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. Crews are also conducting flag operations in Johnson County on Monday, March 17 along Route AA between NW 200 and NW 450 roads for brush cutting, while ditch work is underway today on Route O at SW 600 Road. In Saline County, Route K is closed Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. for pipe replacement work, between 120th Road and McAllister Road. Pothole patching continues this week on Route 240 between Routes 65 and 41.

Pipe replacement work is also taking place this week in Pettis County along Route O. Monday the highway is closed between Bugger Town and Ramey roads. Tuesday the road will close between Lookout and Farmers City roads, while a third replacement will close the highway between Route HH and Salem Road. The closures will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Elsewhere, crews will conduct bridge maintenance Tuesday through Friday in Chariton County along Route E at Turkey Creek, while in Cooper County, Route W will close Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a culvert replacement between Hunt Mill and Ernst roads. Also Tuesday, pothole patching will take place along Route 13 in Johnson County, between Route H and the Lafayette County line. Brush cutting is scheduled for Wednesday in Johnson County along Route PP between Route 13 and SE371 Road.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
