Saline County brought in an additional 8.8 percent in sales tax revenue from February, according to figures presented last week by the county treasurer.

The totals presented by Treasurer Jared Brewer, show that the Missouri Department of Revenue remitted to Saline County last week $110,900.47 in sales tax revenue collected during the month of February. That was $9000 better than the same month a year ago. It was down about $8300 from the previous month, owing to fewer days in the month. Economic development and law enforcement tax collections provided a similar result.

Use tax collections in Saline County during February totaled $97,967.21, a 36-percent jump from the same month a year ago, and nine percent stronger than the previous month. With three months of collections in, per-month use tax revenue is up six percent at $91,369.29, while sales tax collections are down 1.5 percent at $114,169.26 per month.
