The Sedalia City Council has directed city staff to draft an ordinance that would establish a four-way stop outside the entrance to one of the city’s parks.
The council voted at their meeting Monday, March 17 to request an ordinance that would convert the intersection of Third and Park, at the southeast corner of Liberty Park, into a four-way stop. Interim City Administrator Matthew Wirt says the current configuration allows traffic on Third to flow without stopping.
Wirt says the intersection, which has the main entrance to Liberty Park branching northwest from it, may require traffic engineers to reconfigure its design.
The request for the ordinance came toward the end of Monday’s meeting.
