The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced the reopening of a bridge in Chariton County that’s part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle.
The Route 11 bridge over Salt Creek, south of Mendon in Chariton County, reopened to traffic Wednesday, March 19. The bridge was replaced over the winter as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle, which will replace or rehabilitate 31 bridges that were considered to be in poor condition. This bridge is the 12th completed in the bundle and sixth in Chariton County.
Work continues on two area bridges included in the bundle: the Bridge Creek bridge carrying Route J in Carroll County, and the Mussel Fork bridge carrying Route D in Chariton County. Six of the 17 remaining bridges in the bundle are located in Chariton County. The team of Capital Paving and Horner & Shifrin are handling the design and construction of all 31 bridges.
Additional details and updates on the Northwest Bridge Bundle are available on MoDOT’s website.
