
The weather might not feel like it, but Thursday, March 20 is the first official day of the spring sports season for Missouri high schools.
A handful of area teams are taking advantage of the extra day added to the competitive calendar to start their seasons. Among them, Slater will begin their baseball season with a trip to Harrisburg; first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. Westran will host Russellville at 5 p.m., while Warsaw drive south to take on Skyline at 4:30 p.m. The spring softball, girls soccer, boys tennis, and boys volleyball seasons also begin today.
Meanwhile in Columbia, the Show-Me Showdown continues with trophy games for Class Six boys and girls, as well as Class Five boys, scheduled for today. Wednesday at Mizzou Arena:
