The Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra invites area residents to The Charles Ferguson Memorial Chamber Recital to be held Saturday, March 29, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Marshall.
The event gets underway at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary and will feature retired Principal Harpist of the San Francisco Symphony Douglas Rioth, assisted by MPO musicians Ryan Koster and Zeb Yoko on violin and cello. This event is free and open to the public.
The “chamber” style recital, originally implemented by long-time MPO Conductor Charles Ferguson in 1995, was renamed in his honor in 2024.
Current MPO Director Kevin Lines says “Mr. Ferguson was a major influence in the success of all things musical in Marshall and beyond for more than 40 years. It is our privilege to remember him and his legacy in a permanent way. We also extend our sincere gratitude to his wife, Norma Jeane Ferguson, for her generous donation in Mr. Ferguson’s memory to underwrite this special recital.”
A meet and greet reception will immediately follow.
