The four-time defending national champion Oklahoma Sooner softball team experienced their first-ever loss in the Southeastern Conference, at the hands of their former Big 8 foes at Mizzou by a 3-1 score Saturday, March 22.

The Tigers struck early with home runs from Madison Walker and Taylor Ebbs, along with an RBI double from Stefania Ebbs. Cierra Harrison pitched four scoreless innings from the circle to secure her seventh win of the season. Oklahoma plated one run in the seventh off Taylor Pannell, who got out of the final-inning jam to claim her first save of the season.

Mizzou got their first win in the conference season to improve to 18-14. More significantly, it’s the first loss of the season for the 28-1 Sooners. Mizzou and Oklahoma are set to wrap up their series Sunday afternoon at noon.
