Several pipe replacement projects are scheduled for this week around the region, resulting in a series of road closures.
The Missouri Department of Transportation has scheduled four of those closures in Pettis County, beginning Monday, March 24 from 8 a.m until 4 p.m. on Route EE between Kemp and Hopewell roads, north of Newland. A second pipe on Route EE is set for replacement Tuesday, March 25 between Kemp Road and Route J, also between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pipe replacements are also scheduled along Route JJ, Wednesday between Route EE and Olive Branch Road, and Thursday between Route 135 and Smith Road. Full closures are scheduled for each of these projects, so drivers will need to find an alternate route.
Pipe replacements are also scheduled in Saline County. Route E north of Napton will close Monday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. between 195th and 210th roads. Route K outside Houstonia will close Tuesday between 120th and McAllister roads. Pipe replacements will begin Wednesday on Route BB between U.S. Route 65 in Grand Pass and Route 20 outside Blackburn, with replacements set to take place until Friday. These will also be full closures while the work is underway.
Flagging operations for brush cutting continue this week around Johnson County. One lane will remain open throughout the week along Route AA between U.S. Route 50 and Northwest 1901 Road, east of Lone Jack. Brush cutting projects will take place Monday and Tuesday along Route 2 from Route EE in Leeton to just north of Windsor. Crews will then turn their attention to Route PP south of Warrensburg from Route 13 each to Southeast 371 Road.
All projects are weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
