UPDATE: The boil advisory will no longer be in effect at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.
Saline County residents whose water is supplied by the Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 2 are under a boil advisory for the next two days.
Water service for the western part of Saline County was disrupted Monday, March 24, 2025 when an eight-inch water main south of Mount Leonard on Route 127 was hit by a contractor. Repairs have since been made and service has restored. However, the district’s customers in Saline County are asked to bring their water to a rolling boil and allowed to cool before consuming. This advisory does not impact the district’s customers in Johnson or Lafayette counties, or residents in the city of Blackburn. The boil advisory is in effect until Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
No other water districts in Saline County are impacted by Monday’s service disruption.
