Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation begin resurfacing a series of lettered routes in Cooper and surrounding counties this week.
Routes CC, HH, NN, and OO, all in western Cooper County, are the first roads that crews will resurface beginning Monday, March 24. Over the next two months, crews will apply a new surface to letter routes in Cooper as well as Moniteau and Morgan counties. Resurfacing projects are continuing in Howard County, including on Route A between Routes B and 124. Another project in Howard County will begin Wednesday along Route AA, from Route E to 87. One lane will remain open to traffic through each work zone, with flag crews directing vehicles.
Daytime closures are scheduled this week for a pair of highways elsewhere in Central Missouri. Tuesday from 8 a.m until 3 p.m., crews will close Route Z in Randolph County outside Cairo between County Roads 1390 and 1620. A culvert is also set for replacement Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Route W in Cooper County, south of Prairie Home between Hunt Mill and Ernst roads.
Also in Cooper County, bridge maintenance is planned March 27th for eastbound Interstate 70 over the Lamine River. General maintenance work is scheduled for Route 41 throughout the week from the junction with Interstate 70 and Route 135, north to Arrow Rock.
Two projects are set for this week in Chariton County. Pothole patching will take place throughout the week along Route F, while the Route E bridge over Turkey Creek north of Mendon will undergo maintenance work.
All projects are weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
