The Moberly City Council is showing its support for several upcoming events by approving cooperation agreements during a recent meeting.

The council first approved an agreement for the operation of a Farmers’ Market at the Fennel Complex in the city. Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says the Randolph County Health Department helps put it together to allow residents to get fresh produce. McGarvey notes there will be several markets held throughout the summer.

The council also gave approval for an agreement with the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Moberly Community Improvement District for a Car Cruise event, which will also be held at the Fennel Complex. McGarvey says this is another fun summer event the community can enjoy.

The dates for these events are still to be determined.

In other news, the council approved the reappointment of Jimmy O’Loughlin to the Historic Preservation Commission after his term expired in February. The council also approved the appointment of Libby Mattox to that board. Both will serve for three-year terms.
