
Michael James Reid, 46, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by family and friends at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born January 5, 1979, in Springfield, MO, he was the son of James and Nancy (Hutton) Reid who survive of Sweet Springs. Michael lived in Sweet Springs most of his life and was a 1997 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. After graduation, he went into the workforce and worked for Nordyne in Booneville until it closed and Milbank Manufacturing in Concordia for 10 years. Michael had a passion for entrepreneurship as he was an avid collector and seller of comic books, video games, and antiques. He was a faithful traveler and would go to places that would continue to pique his love of comic books, as well as simply seeing the beauty of the world.
Survivors include parents, James “Fuzzy” and Nancy Reid; two brothers, Bill Reid (Darla) of Sweet Springs and Jake Reid of Columbia; one niece, Makenna Reid of Sweet Springs; one nephew, Logan Reid of Sweet Springs; and his cat, Ripley.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Van and Marth Reid and his maternal grandparents, Leo and Dorothy Hutton.
