The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a pair of accidents Saturday, March 29 in Benton County.

The first accident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. south of Warsaw on Branch Road. According to troopers, an 83-year-old man driving a UTV attempted to turn around on the road, but instead went down a steep embankment and overturned. The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to an Osage Beach hospital. Troopers say the man was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.

Also around 11:30 a.m., a Kingsville man suffered serious injuries when his motorcycle left a highway east of Warsaw. The 53-year-old rider was going east on Route BB near Woodland Road, when troopers say he went off the right side of the road, struck a sign, and overturned. He was flown to a Columbia hospital. Troopers add that the man was not wearing the proper safety gear at the time of the crash.

The Patrol also responded to a two-vehicle crash around 12:20 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 65 a mile north of the Cole Camp junction, which resulted in minor injuries to one of the drivers.
